Laser Engraving/Marking

How does laser engraving work?

Laser engraving is a process where the laser beam physically removes the surface of the material to expose a cavity that reveals an image at eye level. The laser creates high heat during the engraving process, which essentially causes the material to vaporize. It’s a quick process, as the material is vaporized with each pulse. This creates a cavity in the surface that is noticeable to the eye and touch.

How does laser marking work?

Laser Marking is a noncontact process used for changing the surface of a material object. Laser marking can be used to mark and identify many plastics, where the laser is used to create a color change in the material. Similar to the color change in plastic, the process of annealing is used on many metals such as stainless steel and titanium to create a change in color of the laser marked area.
